Maynooth— Brand & UI Design
The Brief
Maynooth is mid-tier furniture brand which runs a thriving retail operation of contemporary and modern home furniture. Heavily inspired by mid century modern furniture styles the idea was to create a visual identity that accentuates the brand products. The brief was to create a visual identity and digital experience that elevated the brand — making it feel as considered and refined as the furniture it sells.
The Approach
My approach to the brand identity takes cues from the Scandinavian-esque design style to enhance the minimal look and feel. Mid-century modern is a well-loved aesthetic, which means there's a risk of the brand feeling derivative rather than authoritative. The identity is minimal without being cold: clean typography, a restrained colour palette, and a visual rhythm that mirrors the proportions and negative space of well-designed furniture. The UI design extends this logic into the digital experience — every screen is an exercise in clarity, making it easy for customers to fall in love with the products rather than wrestle with the interface.
The result is a brand that feels like it belongs in the same room as its products — quietly confident, beautifully considered.
